Terms of Service

The Service is restricted to members of the University of Benin Demonstration Secondary School Old Students Association class of 2012 (“UDOSA 2012”) and to administrators authorized by UDOSA 2012. To use the Service you must:

• be at least 18 years old;
• be a current or former member of UDOSA 2012, or have been invited by an authorized administrator;
• have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

You sign in via Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Notify an administrator immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

Administrative accounts are required to enable two-factor authentication (TOTP) before accessing administrative features.

Membership in the directory is subject to administrator approval. You may view and complete your own profile while your membership is pending, but access to the member directory and other members becomes available only after your membership is approved.

Administrators may approve, decline, suspend, or remove memberships at their discretion in line with UDOSA 2012 community guidelines.

You agree not to:

• scrape, copy, or republish member data outside the Service, including bulk export of contact information;
• use member data to send unsolicited commercial communication (spam) or for any marketing not endorsed by UDOSA 2012;
• harass, abuse, threaten, defame, or impersonate any other member;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or to another member's account, including bypassing authentication, role checks, or rate limits;
• upload content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, or that violates the privacy or rights of others;
• use the Service for any purpose prohibited by applicable law.

You retain ownership of the information you provide (your name, contact details, profession, services, etc.). By submitting content you grant UDOSA 2012 a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty- free license to host, display, and share that content within the Service in accordance with your privacy settings, and to use it for community welfare purposes such as birthday and anniversary recognition that you opt in to.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. You may update or remove your information at any time through your profile settings.

The Service allows members to request introductions to other members. By using this feature you understand that:

• requests are reviewed by administrators before any contact information is shared;
• approved introductions result in both parties receiving each other's contact information by email;
• members can opt out of receiving introduction requests at any time via their privacy settings.

UDOSA 2012 may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, for disruption to the community, or for any reason at our reasonable discretion.

You may stop using the Service at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact an administrator via the channels published by UDOSA 2012.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. UDOSA 2012 does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, nor that any information provided by other members is accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UDOSA 2012 and its volunteers, administrators, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
